  • Discovery zone:  a configurable area primarily designed for school outreach activities – for example, the Royal Society of Chemistry is holding its 2019 Top of the Bench competition in the CTL this year.
  • Novel technician services arrangement, for quick scene changes – technicians have independent access to all floors so that equipment and experiments can be exchanged rapidly.
  • An outstanding array of informal learning areas with seats for nearly 400 students to work alone or in groups.
  • The Grumpy Mule Café. Opening hours in term time are: Monday-Friday 9.00-16.00. You may bring your own food to eat in the café. No food or drink is allowed in the laboratories.
