Students walking along a pathway lined with autumnal treesSince the start of the EUniWell alliance in 2019, the University of Birmingham has led on a number of initiatives, creating new opportunities, and supporting meaningful and sustainable change in our community and beyond.

Policy Commission

The inaugural EUniWell Policy Commission explored the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the well-being of young people (aged 15-24) across Europe.

EUniWell Mayor's Placement Scheme

During the summer of 2022 and 2023, an international team of students from across the EUniWell network completed a six-week virtual internship with the Public Health Division at Birmingham City Council. The Public Health team champions the improved health and wellbeing of Birmingham's diverse population, especially those most vulnerable. The internship gave the students an opportunity to gain experience of exploring policy answers to wellbeing challenges in a work setting.

Wellbeing Incubator

We are pleased to be leading on the EUniWell Wellbeing Research Incubator, an initiative to promote collaboration in wellbeing research. Researchers at all levels are invited to put forward proposals to run online workshops on topics relating to the four EUniWell research areas. You can use these workshops to help widen your networks, learn about research activity taking place across Europe, and identify common interests, synergies and potential for collaboration.

Find out more and apply for the Wellbeing Research Incubator via the EUniWell website or contact euniwell-incubator@contacts.bham.ac.uk.
