The University has five colleges and Careers Network have a team of careers professionals dedicated to each college.
We recognise that some companies will want to target students from defined academic disciplines, and build relationships with staff in specific schools and colleges. A great way to do this is by participating at events organised by our specialised college careers teams.
Sector specific events
During autumn and spring terms, college teams run a series of events for our students to explore different roles within specific sectors. A panel of representatives from the sector (alumni and industry speakers) share their career journeys and experiences of working in the sector. These events offer an opportunity for students and panellists to network and make connections.
This series has been popular with SMEs (small and medium-sized enterprises) local to Birmingham looking to increase their brand awareness on campus for recruitment.
