Biography

For the last 15 years, Solon Magrizos has been studying about, researching on, or working with business. During his studies and work experience he was drawn by the concept of Corporate Social Responsibility and how Business interacts with Society.

Intrigued by the topic, he pursued a relevant PhD from the Department of Marketing and Communications of Athens University of Economics and Business. His thesis examined the link between Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and competitiveness of SMEs and the moderating role of stakeholders in this relationship. Between 2015-2017, Solon was a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Centre for Business in Society at Coventry University, where his main tasks involved undertaking research projects focused on Corporate Social Responsibility and SMEs, Social Enterprises and Human Resource Management, and the Ethical Consumer. He was also involved in bidding for, organizing, delivering and disseminating various research bids and calls and also had the opportunity to help bid for, organize and disseminate ESRC events, co-organize a 1-day conference on Circular Economy with the British Academy of Marketing. In the same time, Solon co-supervised one PhD student studying Environmental Management Systems in SMEs.
