This module builds on Year 1 basic methods training in order to provide students with an understanding of how to use a range of critical research methods and techniques relevant to the discipline. It will also bestow students with the required skills to undertake a piece of independent research.
A series of lectures will provide students with the knowledge of relevant methodological approaches and highlight different contemporary techniques within the discipline. This will be complemented by a practical, field-based element which students will undertake within groups.
A series of seminars will provide students with an opportunity to gain insight into choosing and undertaking independent research.
