The day has three sessions:

  • The first examines the history of Classics teaching at the University of Birmingham
  • The second addresses the experience of studying Classics in the West Midlands and include thoughts on future directions
  • The third is an evening lecture delivered by Professor Alice Roberts of the University of Birmingham, who will speak on the interface between the sciences and the humanities, and on the place of Classics in a civic university today
