The IGI’s Gender Equality Theme and Birmingham Law School invite you to join us for a workshop on Gender and Interdisciplinarity on 25th April, 11am-3pm, in the Hills Building, 120. This workshop forms part of the 'How to do Interdisciplinary Research' workshops series and features speakers with extensive experience of interdisciplinary projects. Speakers will include:

  • Dr Lucia Berro Pizzarossa - Lucia is an Associate at the O’Neill Institute for National and Global Health Law and has extensive experience in interdisciplinary research and securing funding for IDR. She currently works between law, policy making and women’s health.
  • Professor Shakila Thangaratinam - Shakila is Dame Hilda Lloyd Chair of Maternal and Perinatal Health, the co-Director of WHO Collaborating Centre for Global Women’s Health and academic lead for Women’s Health in Birmingham Health Partners. 
  • Dr Louise Jackson - Louise is a Senior Lecturer within the Institute of Applied Health Research. Louise has broad range of methodological experience and expertise. She is interested in applied research that improves health and care services, especially for young people and women. 
  • Professor Máiréad Enright - Máiréad's research is in feminist legal studies and critical legal theory, with a particular focus on law and religion. She has written on issues including reproductive justice, law reform and grassroots organising, illegality in social movements, responses to historical injustice and obstetric violence. 
  • Professor Fiona de Londras - Fiona is Professor of Global Legal Studies at Birmingham Law School. her research concerns constitutionalism, human rights, and transnationalism. She is particularly interested in the role and function of rights in contentious policy fields, inquiring into how (if at all) rights shape the making of law and policy in complex contexts.
