Sarah Damery has been a Research Fellow in the formerly named Institute of Applied Health Research (now called Department of Applied Health Sciences) since September 2008. She was initially part of the cancer research team within the Department of Primary Care Clinical Sciences and worked on a number of projects centred on cancer and chronic disease early diagnosis and screening uptake. 

From 2014 to 2019 Sarah was a research fellow in the chronic diseases theme within the West Midlands CLAHRC (Collaborations for Leadership in Applied Health Research and Care). She is now part of Theme 1 in the new 5-year West Midlands ARC (Applied Research Collaboration), working on projects evaluating a range of changes to health and social care service delivery within and across the West Midlands for patients with chronic conditions.

Sarah has extensive experience of working in multidisciplinary contexts and with mixed methods, including quantitative, literature review and qualitative research methodologies.

Postgraduate supervision

Sarah Damery was initially part of the cancer research team within the Department of Primary Care Clinical Sciences and worked on a number of projects centred on cancer and chronic disease early diagnosis and screening uptake. Since March 2014 she has been part of the Chronic Diseases theme within the West Midlands CLAHRC (Collaborations for Leadership in Applied Health Research and Care). She is currently working on several projects evaluating integrated care initiatives and other changes to health and social care service delivery within and across the West Midlands.

Dr Damery has extensive experience of working in multidisciplinary contexts and with mixed methods, including quantitative, literature review and qualitative research methodologies.
