I have worked at the University of Birmingham since 2009. Currently, I am an EAP tutor at the Birmingham International Academy (BIA) where I teach on Foundation and Insessional programmes and have been a presessional coordinator for the summer EAP Postgraduate Programme since 2015. Most recently I have co-led on the creation of new 20-week presessional materials for BIA.

I have lived in the UK, China and Zimbabwe where I have worked on a range of English courses, which have included general EFL, 1 to 1s, small classes for teenage learners, EAP presessionals and English for Court Interpreters. I have also worked as consultant for the British Council in Malawi. I initiated a Peer-Assisted Study Scheme (PASS) for Foundation students and have recently co-led on the creation of new presessional 20-week materials for BIA.

My main research interests include how you can successfully incorporate English for Specific Academic Purposes (ESAP) onto an English for General Academic Purposes (EGAP) course.
