Dr Andy Chetwynd is an analytical chemist with mass spectrometry experience in metabolomic, proteomics and inorganic analysis in clinical and environmental applications.

Qualifications

  • BSc Biochemistry (Toxicology) University of Surrey
  • PhD Analytical Chemistry University of Sussex

Biography

Dr Chetwynd carried out his undergraduate degree in Biochemistry (Toxicology) at the University of Surrey incorporating a year in industry and GSK. Following this he embarked on his PhD at Sussex where he developed nLC-nESI-MS methods for metabolomics and investigated the metabolomic consequences of HIV anti-retroviral therapy. He subsequently moved to the Birmingham Phenome Centre to perform high-through put clinical metabolomics studies before moving to an industrial post doc with Sciex on the Horizon 2020 project ACEnano. He now continues to work on ACEnano developing CE-MS based methods for protein and metabolite corona characterization.
