I am interested in questions of voice, influence, and achievement in English poetry and in particular the poetry of the Romantic period. I teach across the spectrum of English literature - especially from the eighteenth-century onward.

I came to Birmingham in 2016, having studied and taught at the University of Durham.


This academic year I am teaching on first year Poetry and second year Romantics and Romanticisms modules, as well as offering third year options on Byron and Keats and on Love Poetry. I also convene the Poetry module and teach on the MA in Nineteenth Century Literature and Culture.
