Liz is a soil scientist, specialising in biogeochemical cycling of carbon, nitrogen and phosphorus in forest environments. Her research focuses on the changes to microbial nutrient cycling in soils as a response to climate change, pollution and land use change. Her work seeks to understand how we can manage soils to ensure future resilience to disturbance and how we might use nature-based solutions to mitigate anthropogenic pollution. She works in both tropical and temperate forests and brings her passion for fieldwork and practical science to the classroom to inspire the next generation of environmental scientists.
