Listen to Professor Gupta discuss 'Heavy Period Treatment Expected to Change Clinical Practice'. You can also view a transcript of the podcast.

Postgraduate supervision

Professor Gupta is interested in supervising doctoral research students in the following areas:

  • Abnormal uterine bleeding
  • Endometriosis
  • Endometrial hyperplasia
  • Ambulatory hysteroscopy care
  • Abortion
  • Enhanced recovery

Clinical trials in collaboration with Birmingham Clinical Trials Unit (BCTU), systematic reviews, endometriosis, induction of labour, abortion care, and endometrial hyperplasia – biomarkers for the prognostic and diagnostic evaluation in hyperplasia.

Janesh has just completed the largest randomised controlled trial in the world comparing Dilapan (osmotic dilator) versus dinoprostone (SOLVE trial) in induction of labour, recruiting 570 patients.

Other activities

Janesh’s clinical and research interests have been called upon in the giving expert evidence in clinical negligence and criminal cases for the Metropolitan Police, Lincolnshire Police and many other police forces for series and serious sexual offences, sexual assault, deaths of women and babies.
