Academic Services occupies a pivotal role in enabling academic excellence and student success across the University, providing advice, guidance and support to students and staff through every element of the academic journey. Collaborative working is at the heart of our approach, and we work in close partnership with the education leadership team, and with our Colleges, other professional services teams and the Guild of Students to support the delivery of educational excellence and a high-quality student experience.
Across the six divisions that make up Academic Services we deliver a very broad range of support services and activities across the student lifecycle: from Welcome and wellbeing, through academic skills support, careers advice and employability development activity, to graduation and beyond. Academic Services also have responsibility for ensuring that the education and student-related activities undertaken by the university are compliant with relevant regulations and legislation, with accountability for related external reporting, quality assurance and compliance activities. Staff in Academic Services also lead and work across a wide range of transformational projects across the University, supporting the 2030 strategy.
