BBC-EAC undertook a range of projects for NICE varying in size and complexity. These included the production of:
- Assessment Reports that appraise the clinical and economic evidence for devices, technologies or procedures where NICE is developing recommendations.
- Observational studies that can involve the setting up and using Registers to capture information on the use, outcomes and adverse events relating to a specific technology or intervention.
- Methodology studies to develop health technology appraisal techniques for medical devices or assess the feasibility of evaluating a specific technology.
BBC-EAC produced Medtech Innovation Briefings on promising technologies that summarise the evidence available for health care commissioners.
BBC-EAC undertook the Quality of Life Study in Patients Undergoing Surgery for Ovarian Cancer (SOCQER2) which will report in 2018.
