Dr Robin Miller and Yvonne Sawbridge recently ran a workshop on innovation for Dudley GPs Practice managers and nurses.

Speakers included Heather Henry, a Queens Nurse who has been actively developing wellness programmes in the community; Dr Priya Kumar outlining her approach to group consultations in general practice; Dr Saqib Mughal who described the development of a new model of working collaboratively with hospital Diabetologists to run virtual clinics and share learning about patients with diabetes between primary and secondary care clinicians to deliver a shared care pathway for them which improved clinical outcomes and  reduced hospital referrals; and a session on working with marginalised groups delivered by Inclusion health, a social enterprise who deliver healthcare services to a range of vulnerable groups in society.

Over 30 people attended and many reported that the speakers were “inspirational and energising”.
