Dr Sarah Aldred, Senior Lecturer in Exercise Biochemistry at the School of Sport and Exercise Sciences, recently became co-ordinator of the Alzheimer's Research UK Midlands network. This is a consortium of clinicians and researchers from the Midlands Universities who are undertaking research into Alzheimer's Disease. 

Alzheimer's Research UK is the UK's leading dementia research charity, and each year it holds an annual conference. The Midlands network is hosting the conference in 2012, and it will take place at The Burlington Hotel in Birmingham on 27-28 March 2012. More information can be found at the conference website. 

Dr Sarah Aldred is an expert in the field of oxidative stress, and has been researching chronic diseases of ageing associated with oxidative stress for more than 10 years.
