Your International Careers Consultant 

Your Careers Consultant, Ellen O’Brien will help you to develop the confidence to meet employers, network successfully, and build your skillset during your time at Birmingham.

International Skills series

Throughout semesters one and two your International Careers Consultant delivers skills development and opportunity awareness workshops just for international students. Ellen will help you to develop global job seeking skills, intercultural awareness and understanding of UK business etiquette and China economic trends. Semester one workshops focus on developing skills for selection and recruitment practices and how to prepare for returning home after graduation.

Our innovative 30 minute ‘Top Tips’ sessions are delivered by our Student Peer Presenter Team. They are designed to give you the confidence and tools to make your way successfully through the application and selection process.
