Work Experience

Our events, fairs and programmes provide you with the opportunity to meet with graduate recruiters to learn about and discuss employment and work experience opportunities.

Research and gather information on specific industry sectors and engage in interactive skills-based workshops to enhance your employability skills.

Bootcamp

Through our Boot Camp you can learn how to tackle real life business challenges from industry experts.  From this three day event you can learn a number of enterprise skills including teamwork, project management, problem solving and ideas generation. You will also be able to pitch your idea as a team to an expert panel.

Masters Consultancy challenge

This offers you the opportunity to work for an employer here on campus, usually in June. Work in interdisciplinary groups to solve a real-world business problem and gain training on relevant skills such as teamwork, commercial awareness and pitching.

Masters Campus-based Team Internship programme

Taking place during the Autumn – Spring term, this scheme is for Masters students within the School of Chemical Engineering, International Development Department and College of Arts and Law.

You can work in teams on a real-life industry challenge that the organisation is facing.  Teams present their solutions and compete against each other to win the panel’s vote.

The Future Leaders Certificate (FLC) is an extra-curricular programme specifically designed for postgraduate Business School students. It provides a unique student experience through the combination of industry engagement and development of key employability skills including leadership, entrepreneurship and agile learning to prepare you for the future of work. If you gain a place on the scheme, you will work through a carefully developed Canvas course that focuses on these key employability areas, all culminating in working on real life projects set by multinational companies.
