Student societies

Many nationality groups form student societies during their time at the University of Birmingham. This is an excellent way to keep in contact with home and also provides an opportunity to highlight your culture and customs in the UK. One such society is the University of Birmingham Persian Society. You can find more information on the Guild of Students website.

Student societies are also a useful point of contact for prospective students to Birmingham who may want to contact current students for information.

For a full list of student societies please visit the Birmingham Guild of Students website.

Saeid Safavi, MEng in Electronic and Communication Engineering, PhD student in the Electrical, Electronic and Communication Department   "My MEng was a collaboration programme between Amirkabir University of Technology and the University of Birmingham, and after I finished it I decided to stay here because I have had great supervisor and he offered me a position for starting my PhD.

I really like the campus and I also really happy with the friendly staff. In addition I believe that we have really good lab facilities here."
