CAHA Study Tour

Our second-year Study Tour module gives students the unique opportunity to travel on a guided tour of archaeological sites.
The tour is an exciting and important element of the programmes below:
Our second year Study Tour is a core second year module on the Classics and Ancient History BA and Ancient History and Archaeology BA programmes.
This module, which is the only one of its kind in the UK, gives all students on these two programmes the unique opportunity to go on a guided tour with their lecturers to some of the most important Classical sites and use them as a classroom.

'I have never seen so much and learnt so much in such a short space of time, I loved every minute of it.'
'The knowledge I have gained is irreplaceable and the lecturers have made this such a thoughtful experience… I will carry this knowledge through my degree and long afterwards.'
The Study Tour has been taking students from the University of Birmingham to ancient sites in the Greece for more than fifty years. Most travel costs associated with this core module are covered by the University (e.g. flights from the UK, accommodation and travel within Greece).
Alternative arrangements are available for those students who do not wish to travel.
