Welcome from our MedSoc president!
Hello! Welcome to the University of Birmingham Medical Society, known as MedSoc.
We are proud to be the largest MedSoc in the UK and we welcome students from all healthcare courses within the College of Medicine and Health (CMH). MedSoc is run by students and is the home of all your extra-curriculars whilst at university. We’ve got over 75 groups ranging from sports teams and performing arts, to charities and academic societies. So, whether you’re into rugby, singing, surgical skills or giving back to the community, MedSoc will have something for you!
Throughout the year, MedSoc will come together for some of the most memorable events such as Freshers Fortnight, the Christmas Party, the ASPIRE conference, and our annual MedBall which has over 1500 attendees!
What really makes Birmingham MedSoc stand out is the variety of opportunities on offer. Our academic societies work closely with expert clinicians and researchers, our sports teams venture across Europe, and our charity groups make a real difference in the local community. There’s something for everyone to get stuck into.If you are interested in hearing more, MedSoc are present at all Open Days, and always happy to chat - so please come and say hello!
