Sustainable commuter travel
We are committed to reducing our commuter travel emissions by supporting students and staff with sustainable travel to and from our Edgbaston campus. We conduct a regular survey of all staff and students, which feeds into our Sustainable Travel Plan. Understanding why staff and students make the transport choices they do helps us devise measures to make sustainable transport more attractive.
Since we implemented the plan, solo car driving has decreased by 5%, staff cycling is more than double the national average, and two-thirds of undergraduates walk or cycle to campus.
