Community Safety and Security

Keeping our students, staff and visitors safe is at the heart of everything we do. Our Community Safety and Security teams work across campus and the wider local area to provide 24/7 support, advice, emergency response, and a welcoming presence you can rely on.

Security
Our Security team provides 24/7 service across the University’s campus and facilities. They help keep the community safe by patrolling the grounds, responding to incidents, offering guidance and maintaining a visible presence. You’ll recognise them out and about with their ‘Security’ navy blue uniforms on. From providing round-the-clock security and incident response across campus, monitoring CCTV, alarms, access control, and the SafeZone system from the Security Control Room, to even managing lost and found property and staff ID cards.

They also deliver training, exercises and specialist guidance to staff and departments, whilst supporting resilience, recovery and the continuity of essential services during disruption.
