Building Better Mental Health After COVID-19

Thursday 10 September 5:45pm - 7pm (BST)

Join experts and fellow alumni for an exclusive online discussion with Professor Matthew BroomeProfessor Rachel Upthegrove and colleagues from the University’s Institute for Mental Health. This talk will be hosted by Professor David Adams, Pro-Vice-Chancellor and Head of College of Medical and Dental Sciences.

Matthew and his team will provide an overview of their work supporting communities, including young patients and frontline NHS staff, through the immediate mental health challenges posed by COVID-19. We will discuss their scientific response to the profound consequences for our society’s mental health created by the pandemic.

Improving youth mental health is a key theme of our Birmingham In Action fundraising and volunteering campaign. Join us to learn how alumni and friends can help make a difference to young people and others most affected by the trauma of COVID-19.

The event will be hosted on Zoom and questions are welcome in advance or on the evening.  With limited places available on the video call, please email our Alumni Events Team at alumnievents@contacts.bham.ac.uk to confirm your space or if you have any questions.

We look forward to seeing you there.
