Life-changing education: Bright Minds in Birmingham

We believe no one with academic potential should be held back by their financial or social circumstances.

Our Pathways to Birmingham programme breaks down practical and financial barriers faced by young people, including those who have been in care and those looking after a loved one. By supporting Birmingham Gives, you helped to provide life-changing education through a programme of mentoring, scholarships and financial support, so students can achieve their ambitions of studying at Birmingham.
When I first thought about going to university, I was worried about how much my parents would be able to support me financially. The taster summer school I went to on campus gave me the confidence to apply and the scholarship helped pay for my living costs and the laptop I use every day.
