Zubair and Asli - University of Birmingham

'It was September 2010 when the red-brick halls of the University of Birmingham brought Asli and I together.'

'What started as passing glances at the Business School blossomed into friendship at an international student party, late-evening study sessions at The Guild of Students, and cross-country day trips.

'Our connection deepened over books and sightseeing across England. After the final dissertation submission, a nervous proposal was met with a few days of delightful hesitation before Asli said yes.

'Her brilliant mind while she was pursuing her MSc International Business became my compass, pushing me to achieve a distinction in my MBA. After our marriage in 2013, we traded the English countryside for the vibrant skyline of Dubai.

'Our journey has since taken us between the UAE and Canada, anchored by our two greatest achievements: our kids, Zidan and Zara.

'Today, we remain proudly connected to the University of Birmingham Alumni Network.'
