Engineering Management - Class of 1986

During the summer, a group of Engineering Management alumni who graduated in 1986 returned to Birmingham to celebrate the 40th anniversary of their graduation. Sadly, one member of the cohort passed away last year, and conversations that took place during the funeral were the catalyst for his classmates to organise the reunion.

After a tour of the School of Engineering, the group were given a campus tour, including a visit to the Pop Comes to Campus Exhibition in the Bramall Building where they were reminded of some of the bands they had seen and enjoyed in the 80s. They also reminisced over Mick's Cafe Race, an annual charity event where participants drank a pint in the Mermaid Bar, then ran the mile or so to Mick's and ate a 'belly-buster-breakfast', before running back for a second pint (often with inevitable consequences). The group ended their day with a curry in Selly Oak, at the Dilshad of course!
