George Evele (MSc Clinical Oncology, 2022)

I was a Commonwealth Shared Scholar at the University of Birmingham from 2021-2022, studying an MSc in Clinical Oncology.

I currently work at the Cancer Center of Mbingo Baptist Hospital in the North-West region of Cameroon.

My time at the University of Birmingham was life-transforming not only for me, but for the many children with cancer who have and will continue to benefit from the knowledge I acquired during my studies there.

Alongside a number of published research studies, I presented a research poster at the International Society of Paediatric Oncology Congress held in April in Lagos, Nigeria which was commended for its relevance to improve clinical practice and cancer outcomes.

I hope my journey will inspire others with the hope it brings to those suffering from cancer. It is a journey of impact that shows that my sponsorship was not in vain.
