
Employer-led events

Employer led events give you the opportunity to meet students on campus or online through sessions that you design and deliver. These events help students learn more about your organisation, the opportunities you offer and the skills needed to succeed in your sector.
Whether you are recruiting for graduate roles, postgraduate‑level positions, placements, internships or work experience, students value hearing directly from employers about their career pathways and recruitment processes.
Ways to engage
You can choose the format that best suits your aims. Popular options include hosting an on‑campus presentation, running a virtual session with question and answer opportunities, delivering an interactive workshop or offering one‑to‑one or small‑group appointments. Our online events platform, Careers Connect, can also support virtual delivery and appointment‑based activity.
If you prefer to meet students in person, a range of indoor and outdoor campus spaces are available for employer‑led activity. These can accommodate presentations, workshops and informal drop‑ins. Outdoor locations with food or giveaways are particularly effective for engaging with students and creating a strong presence on campus. If you’d like to bring a coffee cart, pizza truck, or something similar, we can help make that happen. We work closely with the University’s Conference & Events team, so please get in touch to discuss your event with us.
Some employers invite students to their offices for visits, insight days or skills‑focused activities. If this is something you would like to explore, please get in touch and we can advise on how we may be able to support.
Share your expertise
As well as leading your own event, you are welcome to contribute your experience and knowledge through recorded content such as short videos, podcasts or skills‑focused resources that can be shared with students. Please get in touch if you would like to explore this option.
Support from the Employer Relations team
The Employer Relations team will work with you to help shape your event and promote it through our channels to reach interested students. All employer‑led events benefit from a complimentary publicity package, including the option of student registration management, promotion via our established channels and, where appropriate, follow‑up access to event recordings.
If you need a dedicated space on campus, our employer rooms in the Aston Webb Building can be booked for presentations, meetings or hybrid events.
