Sector events

Our sector events give employers the opportunity to meet students who are exploring careers in particular areas of work. These events allow organisations to share insight, raise their profile and help students understand the range of roles available across different industries. We offer a small number of larger sector events each year, supported by a flexible programme of employer‑led sessions that run throughout the academic cycle.

Annual events
Public Sector Careers Fair
Autumn 2026 (date to be confirmed)
Our annual public sector careers fair highlights opportunities across public service professions, including roles in government, education, healthcare, policy and related areas. The event attracts students who are interested in careers that offer public value and social impact.
Industry insight sessions
In addition to our fairs, we run insight sessions that introduce students to work within specific sectors or professional areas. These sessions are organised by Careers Network and take place throughout the year in response to student interest and emerging skills needs. They give students the chance to hear from organisations about skills, routes into the profession and experiences that support career development.
Sessions may involve employer contributions, such as joining a panel, offering sector insight or delivering a skills‑focused activity as part of a themed week. We welcome interest from employers who would like to support future sessions or suggest new themes.
Why get involved
Taking part in our sector events offers the chance to meet students who have a genuine interest in your area of work. It helps raise awareness of your organisation and the opportunities you offer, while supporting students to make informed decisions about their next steps.
