Programme Announcement – BBS Education Conference 2025
We are delighted to unveil the full programme for the BBS Education Conference, taking place on September 11th, 2025, at the University of Birmingham Dubai.
This year’s conference brings together educators, researchers, and practitioners from across the region and beyond to explore the future of teaching and learning. With the theme “Business-as-Unusual: Pedagogical Innovation for Inclusive and Transformative Futures”, the conference offers a rich day of exchange, inspiration, and collaboration.
Highlights of the programme include:

Informed by feedback from our recent survey on conference priorities, the 2025 conference is organised around four core themes:
Theme 1: Pedagogical Innovation and Transformative Assessment
Exploring innovative approaches to teaching, learning, and assessment that enhance student engagement through digital technologies, authentic learning experiences, and meaningful assessment strategies that transform the educational landscape.
Theme 2: Responsible, Inclusive, and Future-Focused Business Education
Examining how business education can address global challenges while fostering inclusivity, embedding sustainability and ethics in curriculum design, developing entrepreneurial mindsets, and building meaningful community partnerships for positive societal impact.
Theme 3: Professional Growth and Wellbeing in Business Education
Investigating strategies to support the professional development and wellbeing of staff and students, enhancing resilience, fostering cross-disciplinary collaboration, and adapting to the changing landscape of higher education.
Theme 4: Open Forum: Diverse Perspectives and Approaches in Business Education
Welcoming submissions that may not fit neatly into the other themes, this track embraces interdisciplinary connections, reflective practice, and emerging ideas that could enrich our understanding of business education from diverse institutional contexts and disciplinary backgrounds, including emerging approaches, interdisciplinary connections, and reflective educational practices.

New for this year, we’re introducing different types of submissions, these include: Papers, Learning and Teaching Case Studies, Professional Services Showcase Proposals, Workshop Proposals, and Panel Discussion & Roundtable Proposals.
