Professor Deborah Longworth (Pro-Vice-Chancellor Education and Professor of English Literature) requests the pleasure of your company on Tuesday 25 November 2025, 16:00-18:00.

We are delighted to invite you to an early evening celebration of 125 years of education at Birmingham. As an alumnus of the University who has gone on to develop your career in education, we are bringing together our community of educators to celebrate success and explore the challenges and opportunities facing the education sector, from early years through to higher education.

This is a fantastic opportunity to network with fellow Birmingham graduates, as well as with a range of colleagues from across the University, including academic discipline specialists, experts from the School of Education, and staff involved in supporting students accessing higher education. Whether you’re interested in exploring CPD and leadership opportunities, supporting your students into university, or talking with academics from your subject area, we would like to warmly invite you back to campus to join the conversation.

As secondary, tertiary and higher education continue to face new challenges, we’d like to hear from you on the best ways in which universities like Birmingham can best work with you to address these increased pressures. To register for this event, please RSVP via the link below.

The event will run from 16:00-18:00. If you are able to arrive from 15:00, we would be delighted to offer a guided campus tour.
