This canvas resource is designed to be an introduction to Neurodiversity and the individual differences often referred to as Neurodivergent. The information provided is purposefully person-centred, prioritising sharing the lived experiences of being a neurodivergent student in Higher Education.
We recognise that all human beings have strengths and challenges, and in raising awareness of these, this resource hopes to challenge the fictional concept of a ‘normal’ student. By celebrating the natural neurodiversity of all students, we can support the inclusive culture and teaching available at the University of Birmingham.
This canvas resource is open access and can therefore be accessed by all students and staff, as well as anyone from other HE institutions or the wider community. The resource is not intended to be ‘completed’ in the sense of a training course, but to be something that can be dipped in and out of as needed.
