The Birmingham Law School Global Legal Studies research theme is pleased to announce the launch of the book Emancipating International Law: Confronting the Violence of Racialised Boundaries, co-edited by Mohsen Al-Attar and Claire Smith.

With contributions from BLS colleagues Jason Haynes (Birmingham Law School) and Shahab Saqib (Birmingham Law School), the book brings together legal scholars from across the world to examine how race and racism remain embedded within the doctrines, institutions, and logics of international law.

BLS Professor Mohammad Shahabuddin (Birmingham Law School)  will serve as the discussant.

The event will take place at the SCR on 4 February from 4 pm to 6 pm.
