Bringing Birmingham to You: Dr Huw Macartney

New York City regional lead for the Birmingham Alumni USA Network, Burak Yazar (MSc International Development, 2016), is delighted to invite you to a Bringing Birmingham to You event online. We are pleased to welcome visiting academic Dr Huw Macartney, Associate Professor in Political Economy for this special talk. Dr Macartney will speak about his new book on the House of Lords, The Assetocracy: Wealth, Power and Elitism in the House of Lords, exploring the financial and political activity of its members and how elite power continues to shape British government. As always, no prior knowledge of the topic is required. The event will provide an opportunity to ask questions of Dr Macartney, as well as connect with your fellow alumni community.
