How does the city cope with heatwaves, floods, and other extreme weather? Discover the answers through playful activities inspired by WM-Adapt, a University of Birmingham project exploring climate change in the West Midlands. Test ideas and share your own experiences as you discover ways we can make our city more resilient.

The Barber Institute of Fine Arts team will also be there, helping you cut, collage, and project your own sun arc inspired by Joseph Mallord William Turner’s masterpiece The Sun Setting Through Vapour.

This event is free; drop in anytime.

Facilities and accessibility

We’re committed to making The Exchange as welcoming and accessible as possible. There’s step-free access and accessible toilets on all floors, plus a Changing Places toilet on the basement level. Guide dogs and assistance animals are always welcome. If you have any questions about access, just drop us an email at engage@contacts.bham.ac.uk.

Baby facilities

If you're attending with little ones, we’ve got you covered! A wall-mounted changing bench is available in both the ground-floor male and female toilets. We also welcome breastfeeding anywhere, but if you’d prefer a bit of privacy, there’s a baby feeding room available on the ground floor.
