China Open Days

What to expect

Our Open days give you the opportunity to learn more about studying at Birmingham, speak directly with our academic colleagues, and receive personalised guidance on the next steps in your application journey.

Over the past two years, our China Open Days have enabled students and families to gain a deeper understanding of our academic programmes, campus life, student support services and global community. We look forward to meeting you in spring 2026.

During the day you will have chance to:

• Meet our academics - Colleagues from all five Colleges will be available to speak to.
• Experience Birmingham’s teaching approach - Attend themed presentations, sample lectures and workshops.
• Personalised application guidance and On‑Spot Offers - The Admissions team will offer one‑to‑one application support, and eligible applicants may receive on‑the‑spot offers.
• Connect with alumni and future classmates - You’ll meet other prospective students and begin building your network before arriving in the UK.

Exclusive Scholarships and prizes

All students who register to attend and sign-in at the China Open Day will have the opportunity to apply for the exclusive China Open Day Scholarship* on-site, with the scholarship amount of £1,000.

We are also offering attendees the chance to win exclusive Open Day prizes, including International English Language Testing System (IELTS) vouchers and British Council IELTS branded souvenirs.

*Please note that this scholarship is selection based. Eligible students need to follow the instructions on-site to send in scholarship application.

China Internship Programme (Shanghai) 2026

In partnership with Shanghai Overseas Returned Scholars Association (SORSA), we are offering up to 15 summer internships for our students in China.

These 6-8 week internships are designed to provide valuable professional experience in China's dynamic international business environments.
