Learn all about maps and why they are magnificent!

Maps are not just a way to get from point A to point B. From world maps to maps of our local area, they help us explore both new and familiar places, inspiring us to learn more about the world around us.

Join us at the Lapworth Museum of Geology for a free family fun event all about maps and geography.

Take part in fun, creative and practical activities including:

  • Making your own map – where have you been to in the world? Where do different animals come from? Where would you like to visit someday?
  • Spot the difference between old and new maps of our local area
  • Finding out where different fossils and minerals come from in the UK
  • Plate tectonics puzzle – can you put Pangaea back together?
  • Make your own map of the Museum – what objects would you want people to see?

Plus, jigsaws, colouring in, storytime, adventuring on Google Earth and more!

All activities are drop-in and there is a suitable activity for every age group.
