Nursing students practising on a mannequin

This practical masterclass will introduce you to the fundamentals of airway management and Basic Life Support (BLS) in a fun and engaging way using live-training mannequins.

Guided by nursing students, you will learn how to check breathing, open an airway, and perform high-quality chest compressions using mannequins and even race each other for a bit of competition!

Through engaging demonstrations and supervised practice, you'll build your confidence, teamwork skills, and the foundations of nursing care, and have the chance to speak with older students about nursing to gain first-hand views on studying at the University of Birmingham.

This event is part of our Masterclasses series and is open to Year 12 students. It will be delivered by a group of University of Birmingham Nursing students.
