What to expect

Dr Elena Theodorakopoulos, Senior Lecturer in Classics at the University of Birmingham, draws on archaeologist Helen Waterhouse’s lifelong connection with the island of Ithaca and writers including Virginia Woolf and Madeline Miller to reveal the many ways women have found new meaning in these ancient stories.

The café in the Banking Hall is open throughout the event and serves hot and cold drinks.

Take the opportunity to see Helios, a vast illuminated sculpture by British artist Luke Jerram depicting the surface of the sun using NASA imagery.
