Barber Lunchtime Concert

The internationally renowned organist, Henry Fairs, is a former University of Birmingham organist, and current Professor of Organ at the Universität der Künste Berlin. Henry returns to the University for a much-requested recital on the Elgar Concert Hall’s Garnier Organ.

The only organ in the UK by the specialist French organ makers, Garnier, this unique instrument includes a meantone organ alongside essentially a period Classical instrument – designed for Classical period repertoire and earlier. Henry presents an insightful concert, showing the range of this stunning instrument. Note that like many cathedral and church organs – the player is not visible to the audience whilst playing.
