Meet us in Canada - Pre-Departure Briefing - June 2026

The University of Birmingham is delighted to invite you to meet with our representatives. Professor Paul McConnell, Head of Global Engagement, Birmingham Law School and our International Officer for Canada, Alexa Haslam at our pre-departure briefing for offer holders in Canada.

Our in-country pre-departure events are designed for students who are planning to study a full time programme at the University of Birmingham starting this September to give you the opportunity to meet with us and other students who will also be starting their studies this year.

Our study abroad and exchange students are welcome to attend if you would like to meet with others travelling to the UK this September, there are also separate online pre-departure events which will give you more specific information for your study mode.

Please register below and you will receive further details on the event. You are welcome to bring a guest to the event.

Thursday 4 June 2026 (Ottawa) and Saturday 6 June 2026 (Winnipeg)

Professor Paul McConnell from Birmingham Law School will be visiting Ottawa on Thursday 4 June and Winnipeg on Saturday 6 June. Professor McConnell will be happy to arrange meetings by appointment for Law offer holders on those days.

Tuesday 9 June 2026 - Pre-Departure Briefing in Vancouver

Time: 19:00

This will be an information session followed by a Q&A session and an opportunity to speak to our alumni

Wednesday 10 June 2026 - Pre-Departure Drop-In Session in Calgary 

Time: 17:00 - 19:30 (or by appointment)

This will be an informal drop-in session with University members of staff which will give you the chance to hear information about pre-departure and arrivals and ask any questions you have. This is for all offer holders and you do not need to register with an agent to attend.
