This October half term, we’re exploring the stories, secrets and imaginations that live in our bedrooms, from magical beds that take us anywhere to the spooky tales that keep us awake at night.
What if your bed could fly? What if it could bounce, zoom, sail underwater or take you all the way to the stars?
What to expect
- Inspired by The Bed Book by Sylvia Plath, this creative workshop invites children and their grown-ups to dream up and design their own extraordinary beds through craft, creative writing and storytelling.
- Led by Dr Kate Spencer-Bennett, this playful session explores the inventive world of Sylvia Plath’s much-loved children’s poem.
- Teddies and cuddly toys welcome!
Suitable for children aged 3+ and their families.
The café in the Banking Hall is open throughout the event and serves hot and cold drinks and food.
Take the opportunity to see Helios, a vast illuminated sculpture by British artist Luke Jerram depicting the surface of the sun using NASA imagery.
Do I need to book?
