What to expect

Our Postgraduate Open Day takes place on our beautiful 267-acre Edgbaston campus. It's your opportunity to get a feeling for what life at Birmingham may be like.

It's your chance to explore campus and hear first-hand from our staff and students about studying a Masters, a research degree or continuing your professional education.

Some of our subject facilities will also be open for you to explore on a bookable tour, such as our School of Computer Science, the Medical School, the Bramall Music building and many more!

Who should attend?

This event is for anybody considering studying a Masters or Research degree at Birmingham. It's right for you if:

  • You're in your final year of your Bachelor's degree and you want to explore your options after graduation
  • You're in employment and want to find out how a postgraduate degree can help further your career
  • You want to explore changing careers entirely
  • You're looking to explore research opportunities such as a PhD or a MRes

During the open day, you will:

  • Speak to academic staff to find out more about your course
  • Discover scholarships and funding options, including our £3,000 Birmingham Masters Scholarship, our £2,000 Alumni Scholarship and our £4,000 Postgraduate Access Scholarship
  • Hear first hand from current students to find out what postgraduate study is really like
  • Get advice from our student support teams, including Admissions, Accommodation and Careers Network
  • Take a guided campus tour and discover our beautiful campus
