On Friday 16 January 2026 (14.00-16.00), the Centre for Material Cultures and Materialities and the Centre for Global American Studies, will be hosting historian Seth Rockman (Brown).
We will be holding a roundtable to discuss his new book Plantation Goods: A Material History of American Slavery (Chicago, 2024).
The roundtable will feature responses by historian of American slavery Aisha Djelid (Oxford), historian of clothing and textiles Sally Tuckett (Glasgow) and historian of political thought Apeike Umolu (Cambridge).
