Barber Lunchtime Concert
Santiago Sanchez and Ian Tindale join forces for a programme which includes the world premiere performance of Michael Zev Gordon's latest work, Tagore Songs. Co-commissioned by BBC Radio 3 and the Henry Barber Trust the work is based on Rabindranath Tagore's Gitanjali (Song Offerings) - one of the great collections of mystic poetry. Michael Zev Gordon sets five of the 'songs', choosing, in particular, ones in which music and singing are a key part of the imagery.
