Take part in an-person interactive workshop with the RSC.
This dynamic workshop offers a taste of the sessions delivered by RSC practitioners on University of Birmingham courses, showcasing how this unique collaboration brings Shakespeare’s plays to life through active, exploratory practice.
The RSC believes that the language of the play is the key to unlocking Shakespeare. In this practical workshop, you’ll dive into techniques for getting to know a Shakespeare text, explore character motivations, and experiment with ways of establishing the world of the play. Expect an energetic, hands-on session that mirrors the creative processes used inside the RSC’s own rehearsal rooms.
Note for bookers: This is a practical, movement-friendly workshop. Please wear comfortable clothing and bring water. You’re welcome to share any access requirements with the practitioner in advance or at the start of the session.
Make the most of your Open Day visit with a special £10 ticket offer to see Driftwood at the RSC’s The Other Place Theatre in Stratford-upon-Avon, starting at 19:30.
This is an exclusive offer for in-person Open Day attendees.
"dis is my home. My whole life. My history here. And de only future I go have is here.'
As colonial Trinidad advances towards political independence, a downtown Port of Spain gentlemen’s club becomes entangled in a different kind of custody battle.
Driftwood is the first play from Martina Laird. Directed by Chichester Festival Theatre’s Artistic Director Justin Audibert and set in 1950s Caribbean, it’s a deeply evocative story of self-determination and the search for family and belonging.
Tickets are strictly limited, so book early to avoid missing out on this Open Day offer. Once you've booked for the Open Day, you'll receive a link to book your tickets for the play.
