Ha-Ha-Happiness Night brings together three brilliant comedians with strong West Midlands connections for a special one-off event exploring one of happiness's simplest ingredients: having a good laugh.

The evening is hosted by the incomparable Barbara Nice, the much-loved Kings Heath housewife created by Birmingham comedian and actor Janice Connolly. A true Birmingham comedy institution, Barbara has delighted audiences across the country with her unique blend of warmth, wit and audience participation, while Janice's wider acting career has included appearances on Coronation Street, Doctors and a recent performance at London's Donmar Warehouse.

Joining her is Shazia Mirza, the Birmingham-born comedian, writer and broadcaster whose sharp, intelligent and fearless observations have made her one of the UK's most distinctive stand-up performers. The daughter of Punjabi Pakistani parents who settled in Birmingham, she left a career in teaching to pursue comedy and has since established an international reputation.

Completing the line-up is Jon Hipkiss, the Halesowen-based comedian and improv specialist known for his quick wit, audience interaction and the sell-out Star Wars Improvised Parody Show.

Part of the University of Birmingham's celebrations marking the 50th anniversary of the Baggs Memorial Happiness Lecture, this special comedy night promises an evening of warmth, wit and unmistakably Brummie humour.
