In 1970, Mohammed Ayub founded Oriental Star Agencies in Balsall Heath — a record shop that grew into one of the most influential cultural hubs in the South Asian diaspora.
When the shop closed Trueform Projects salvaged much of its vinyl collection and ephemera, preserving an extraordinary archive of memory, migration, and music.
This event in collaboration with BEAST brings together a series of immersive musical responses to the archive, rethinking its legacy alongside visuals by Trueform director Faisal Hussain. Creation supported by the University’s Aspire, QR, and PR funds.
